SACH PASS (PANGI VALLEY) Jeep Tour

Day 01 : Chandigarh – Dalhousie

Start your journey from the beautiful city Chandigarh. Drive to Dalhousie. Dalhousie is a hill station in Chamba district, in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is situated on 5 hills and has an elevation of 1,970 metres above sea level. The road from Chandigarh to Dalhousie is broad enough to roar your bikes till Banikhet. Overnight stay at Dalhousie.

Day-02 : Dalhousie - Tissa

Village Tissa is located in Tissa Valley, 70km north of Chamba town in Himachal Pradesh. It falls on the way to Pangi Valley by road and is rich in agriculture and horticulture. The population of the Tissa is very low with very few option of accommodation. It is a snow bound region in winters though the amount of annual snow fall has decreased in the past two decades or so, most probably as a consequence of global warming. Reach Tissa by evening, checkin, get fresh & relax, enjoy the lovely view of wide green mountains followed by Dinner.

Day-03 : Tissa - Killar (Approx 100 Kms – 5Hrs Drive)

Bairagarh is located at a distance of twenty- seven kilometers from Tissa and is the last village of Churah area. Both Trella (twenty km from Tissa) and Bairagarh are connected with a motor road. Satrundi is the base camp below the sach pass that connects Pangi valley to Chamba The road from Bairagarh to Saturndi passes thorough one the thickest forest in the area dominated by deodar, the forest is known as Kalaban (black forest). Four kilometers ascent to Sach pass is undertaken early morning from Satrundi. Normally, pass is not crossed into the afternoon. Beyond Satrundi, the region remains under snow almost throughout the year though the path is clear of snow in post- monsoon months. There is small temple at the top of the pass. After spending some time here move to Bagotu (3600 m).The descent of eight kilometer to Bagotu is tough.Killar is at about twenty kilometers from Bagotu. Reach Killar early evening & enjoy the Pangi Valley. Overnight stay in hotel followed by dinner.

Day-04 : Killar excursion

Killar is located along the Chenab river. Mahlu nallah is the gateway to Killar. Killar is the sub-divisional headquarter of Pangi Valley. Killar the headquarters of this area has a helipad. Pangi is also known as Trekkers Paradise. From Killar, trekkers can go west to Badarwah, J & K and east to Lahaul Spiti and Manali via the Rohtang Pass.

Day-05 : Killar - Keylong (Approx 110 Kms – 5Hrs Drive)

Killar to purthi is thirty kilometer. Saichu nallah, one of the major tributaries of Chandrabhaga meets the river here. Cherry is the take off point to the point to the Saichu Twan wildlife sanctuary area. The road gets narrower after Rohli. About four kilometers from Rohil is Karu nallah that forms the boundary of Pangi with Lahaul. Thindi, nineteen kilometers from Udaipur, is the last inhabited village of Lahaul towards pangi side. Udaipur is administrative sub-divison of Lahaul & Spiti district.It is located on the right bank of Chandrabhaga.The valley is quite wide at this place and is surrounded by steep rock faces. Mayar nallah coming from Mayar valley meets Chandrabhaga at Udaipur. Six kilometers from Udaipur is the Trilokinath village located on the left bank of the river.Farmous Trilokinath temple is situated in this village. It is very old temple and people of the entire tribal belt including Lahaul, Pangi and Bharmour have great reverence for Lord Shiva, the presiding deity of the hills and mountains. Both Hindus and Buddhists hold Triloknath temple in great respect. Enjoy the locals of Keylong. Overnight in hotel followed by dinner.

Day-06 : Keylong - Manali (Approx 120 Km, 5Hrs Drive)

From Tandi the road bifurcates. One follows Chandrabhaga and travels towards Udaipur and Pangi other goes to Leh. Keylong, the district headquarters of Lahaul & Spiti, is located at a distance of seven kilometers from Tandi at a height of 3201 m on Manali – Leh road. Keylong is a small town with hotels, restaurants, provision shops and rest houses. Rohtang is very wide pass. It is one of the most beautiful passes in Pir Panjal. Pass is not only the gateway to Lahaul & Spiti district but it also the first pass on the Manali Leh road that goes through some of the very high mountain passes. Bara Lacha La (4939 m), Tanglang La (5366 m), La Chul Lang La (5122 m) are the other passes to be crossed. Of these Tanglang La is the second highest motorable pass of the world after Khardung La (5579 m). At the end of Kullu valley below the natural wall of Himalayan ranges of Dhauladhar and Pir Panjali, is the last place to see the world as we know. In side of mountain ranges. Manali is a buzzing tourist destination with thick forest cover More than one hundred hotels, lodges,guest houses and resorts have come up between Kullu and Manali town. These are located on both sides of Beas river.Hidimba temple, Vashisht hot water springs and forested walks are the main attractions here. Move early in the morning with tea & toast for your last day of adventurous biking experience. Reach Manali in time crossing Rohtang Pass. On arrival check in at hotel. Overnight at hotel followed by dinner.

Day-07 : Manali - Chandigarh (Approx 320 Kms – 10Hrs Drive)

Start your ride early in the morning. Breakfast on the way. Arrive Chandigarh in the evening. Tour End!!! .
