Pong Dam reservoir is 115 km from Dharamsala. Nestled in the sylvan surroundings of the Kangra valley, the sprawling Pong Dam wetland has emerged as a major habitat for migratory birds in the country as also an attraction for bird watchers. It is also a playground for water sports lovers.
reach Mcleodganj by Volvo / taxi in morning. Drive to Nagrota Surian and reach there in 2-3 hours run. Catch a boat to visit the pong dam temples. En route you can see many migratory birds that flock in the season from October to March every year.
Evening come to Nagrota Surian and night at hotel.
Drive back to Mcleodganj. Enroute visit the famous monolithic temple at Masroor. The temple is said to have made in one day by the Pandavas during their exile period.
